January 4, 2012- Toast for Change

Wrap up from 1/3/12
(10:57pm)
Question: why is Jaelen on the phone with nobody, but won't give the phone to me? I mean seriously, she ain't doin nothin!!! I was literally like WTH (I mean heck). It's not even because I want to talk on it that much as her just being on the phone with no one on it.....for 1 hour. Good thing is that I got so many friend requests accepted from people I met at the conference. I even got one from this one girl I went evangilizing with. She was so cool.

(8:31am)
In class, AP Bio. I tell my friend too much stuff. He was talking to me about last year when I told Da that I was dropping out of AVID, and when she ALMOST kicked me out, and I was crying.

(11:35pm)
It's my god-sister's, Megan, birthday today. I didnt get to wish her a happy birthday.

Also, I had an orthodontist meeting yesterday, so I got my braces tightened. They hurt a little. I told my friend about them. She laughed, but it was a sympathetic one.

I also, earlier, talked to a freshman named Jasmine. She has a twin. They are my two favorite freshmen here in Maryland, though I dont know any but 5 or 6 freshmen. I find them very interesting. Jasmine and her sister (whose name I forgot) always call me Inspire because of my pin.

Toast for Change:

My toast for change has to do with pretty much all of the areas we listed. I have a very sporadic self esteem. It effects everything I do. Some days I'll get up ready to tackle anything, others, the world will be on top of me. I need to develop, still, a positive way to boost myself, whether it's not listening to those who say that I'm not good enough for college, or talking to someone who can keep me on track emotionally.

I also need to find a job. I have college, dues, and what ever summer plans I may have to pay for. I already started on a job application, and the manager said that he was going to review it, I just need to pray and hope I get it. It's not completely just for me.

Some of the choices I have made need some change. I've made some poor choices when it came to prioritizing and planning. The more I plan, the more chaotic everything seems, but even still, no plan can be destructive.

Not much to say today. I slept most of the day.

January 3, 2012

(1:33am)

Just got done talking on the phone with Kaycee. 118 minutes and 57 seconds. Longest I've ever talked on the phone with anyone. I feel I can tackle my day now.

(8:50am)

Just what I expected and feared. Kaycee attracted boys' attentions all over my class. They wanted to know who she was, if she was my "girl", if I really knew her...well, I can't really blame them for thinking she's pretty, but that's like my sister, they need to hold their tongues and eyes.

(9:43pm)

I was so tired today. I fell asleep in almost all of my classes but 1st period (I gave a tour to a new student). Not much happened today. I gave Mrs. Cathirell, Doña, Ms. Dauka, and Kayla little solar powered keychains I got from New Orleans that had their names on them (except Doña, so she got one that said “teacher”). They loved them, and said I was the best. Doña found her money, and forgave me for losing her camera memory card. Oh, and I also told Mrs. Cathirell about my trip. I may go again.

(4:33am)

OMG, I just had such a good time that I forgot to write. Plus, the hotel had a computer, but you had to pay via credit card. These people hustle every penny out of you. Anyways, here are some of the sesions we did:

(10:42am)

Okay, so I'm on a plane ride back home. I left a christian conference in New Orleans called the Impact Movement. It was amazing. I had a lot of fun. We didn't go to bed until past 1:30 in the morning. I'm tired now because I didn't go to bed until like 4 am, and our TV wouldn't turn off. I wanted to cut the power cord.

Anyways, I met the best person I've ever met in my life (but don't tell Arianna). Her name is Kaycee. I first want to clarify that no, I don't LIKE her like her, but she is a very cool person, kind hearted, devoted, and also crazy. From the moment I saw her, it just felt like there was something telling me that she was special. We didn't talk until last night around 5:15pm. She just called me over to a table and asked if I was okay, because I looked lonely (I was. I was looking for Jacquynn and trying to be social. I spent most of my time couped in my room or people watching. Non-creepy kind). She just invited me to hang out with her. It only took me about 30 minutes to fully connect with her. That's about 100,000 times shorter than it took me to connect with Mrs. Cathirell, Doña, or Arianna (maybe combined). We hung out like we were long time best friends. We shared stories about many things. She told me about a boy she liked, also named Caleb. She was frantically trying to explain that she wasn't talking about me, but I already knew. We met up with another dude named Kalen (pronounced like mine, but with an “n”) and just went up to the 32nd floor and hung out in the excercise room the rest of the time (until evening session), then went to the evening session.

Favorite part of the night was counting down the new year. We had a step team and spoken word (poetry, like coffee house), then the praise team sang. When midnight hit, I just hugged everyone I saw, mostly females. Got some some from dudes too. We all family. But mostly, I just enjoyed hanging with Kaycee. She put a pink glow stick on my arm. I gave her a “girl, you crazy” look, she laughed. Skip ahead some stuff (because this is already long), we did the electric slide (worship version). I got to semi-teach her how to do that, but that was my first time ever doing it in a group, so I stepped on some people (know for sure). Got a group picture of everyone at the conference, need to find that picture. After that, we did the Cupid Shuffle to another song. Had to teach Kaycee, well she watched me. I was killin it, me and this other dude. This other young lady (about uper 20's) took over. So cool. I think we’ll be BFFs. She gave me a huge hug afterwards and we exchanged information.  It was probably as hard for her to leave me as it was for me to leave her. She’s so AWESOME!!! I wish I’d met her sooner.

(7:11am)

I'm on a plane to Charlette. Hitting turbulance, so it's a bit shaky. This is my 3rd time flying. The first time I flew was 8th grade during spring break when I came to visit Maryland to see where we would posibly be moving. We were originally thinking of Columbia. Flying then is what made me interested in Aviation. Oh, if y'all ever fly, go with Southwest. Listen to the commercials, they stand true. My friend almost had to pay a $25 bag fee. OMG this is soooo much fun!!!! Are guys aloud to say OMG? Who cares.

(7:37am)

Someone either farted or dropped a bomb in the toilet (I know I should refrain from saying things like “bomb” on a plane), because it stinks really bad.

(9:06am)

On my 2nd flight to New Orleans. Had to check my bag because there was no more bag space overhead. I got on and was pissed. There was plenty of overhead space. Atleast it's free of charge now. Have to sit next to a stranger. I won't lie, I was hoping to get a seat next to a beautiful lady, maybe my age. Oh, I GOT A WINDOW SEAT!!! YAY!!! Love window seats on a plane. I'm on the wing. Only bad thing is that I'm crowded. Wish I had a camera to snap pictures. Wish I could videotape the take off, but we're not allowed to have any electronic devices during take off or landing. What would happen if I did have an electronic device on? Would we crash? Gotta go, we're about to take off.

(11:47am)

Got off the plane and my ears were plugged. Had to walk back to the gate because Chrysta left her ID in my book, so it fell out. New Orleans looks beautiful, girls and all. Well, I can't exactly say that yet. I just got here. Looking to have a good time.

(12:40pm)

In a Hyatt hotel. It's huge, 32 floors. We have to wait until 2 until we can check into our rooms. Bored. Saw my pastor's daughters and son. They got here Monday. Can't wait 'til 2. About to fall asleep in this chair. It's so comfy.

(1:02pm)

In line to register. Hope I don't get a crazy roommate. One of the men down here said he knew I was from B-more because of how my shirt is buttoned all the way up. I guess that that's one of the many changes I made here. I used to button every button but the top button. Hope I can use a computer while I'm here.

(1:30pm)

Maybe the reason why my Christmas was so bland was because I didn’t hear this song:

I love this song. It’s one of my favorites. It really captures what Christmas is all about.
